XLV

I should start with telling you all that I don't watch football. Even so, ever since I can remember, a huge group of family friends would get together and have the most ballin' Super Bowl party imaginable every year, and so I forced myself to learn the basics of the game and invoked my competitive side so I was screaming just as loudly as the next guy at the TV whenever something interesting happened. You think some of that spirit woulda rubbed off, right?! Wrong. Since coming to college, I've barely watched any Super Bowls. Not even the commercials or the half-time show. However, I'm always on the lookout for interesting things surrounding the event. I mean, who could forget the Janet incident, right? It took them SEVEN years before they even dared to get any artists under 50 to perform again! But, a true highlight had to have been this:

Irony at its finest.

Really?! I might be totally un-American (not having watched this game and all), but I definitely know my national anthem! Though, I gotta give props to the people they panned out to after that didn't even bat an eyelash at the error. I kept looking back and forth at my roommate with my jaw dropped in horror all "Oh no she didn't!" And the Darth Vader Kid Volkswagen Commercial totally took the cake as far as those went. All in all, I would have said my favorite thing was the Glee episode after, but even that was sort of disappointing. Must say though, Finn is even adorable as a zombie; kudos to him. Did you guys do anything fun?

  1. Haha. This whole post made me chuckle! I agree- Glee was definitely the best part of the night. It was so cute. It always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside:)
